Our History

The pioneers of St Peter’s set the tone and standard for a tradition of academic excellence, hard-work and discipline which have been the characteristic features of the school to date. The flame that was ignited in the terrain of the Ghana Education system with a small replica has glowed into a powerful and resilient blaze serving as a center of academic excellence in the country and the international community, accessing both local and international universities, living her vision to be the major brand name as far as academic excellence and total training are concerned.

  • 1990:

    Genesis of the school

    The genesis of the vision dates back to the year 1990. The school began at a site near Madina Social Welfare with an enrolment of only 16 pupils.

  • 1991-1993:

    Relocation to the permanent sites at Ashalley

    Further growth and development led to the acquisition and movement to the permanent sites at Ashalley Botwe New Town Down and Ogbojo, Archimedes Site.

    JHS Started

    In 1994, the school reached the JHS level.

  • 1996

    1st Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)

    The 1st BECE candidates came out with distinctions which placed the school in the number one (1) position in the district. We were adjudged the best school on the academic league table in our district. (The then Ga East District).

  • 2003:

    Senior High School was established

    The Senior High School has developed very rapidly and overtaken many of the old well-endowed public and private schools in the quality of facilities and examination results.
